For clients with a specific business problem who need an agreed scope, a workable design and a reliable basis for committing money.
A dedicated hour with an experienced advisor. It commits you to nothing further.

- 04 ImproveOperate & ImproveKeep your solution dependable and develop it as your business needs change, with clear support and improvement responsibilities.Ongoing support, scoped to your needs
- You have chosen an opportunity but the requirement is still too ambiguous to estimate responsibly.
- A deadline is approaching and the scope needs agreeing quickly.
- An assessment has recommended a priority and it now needs defining.
An agreed solution and a credible basis for delivery pricing, so you can approve, revise or decline the build with confidence.
What is included
- Agree the problem, users, baseline and intended outcomes; map the current process and design the future one, including decisions and exceptions.
- Define the initial release, priorities, acceptance criteria and the responsibilities of your team and the delivery team.
- Examine data quality, integrations, access, security and operational support, and compare configuration, existing products and custom development.
- Produce the solution design, delivery plan and commercial proposal, testing material assumptions with targeted technical work where it is in scope.
What you receive
- A problem and outcome definition
- Process and user journey maps
- A prioritised scope or backlog
- A proportionate solution design, with data and integration requirements
- Acceptance criteria
- A plan covering build, testing, release, adoption and transition into operation
- A proposal with the price or estimating basis, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies and expected running costs
Scope and boundaries
- A fixed fee for a defined discovery, with duration agreed against complexity.
- We discuss an indicative build budget before you commission discovery, so affordability is checked early.
- Existing discovery can be reviewed and completed rather than repeated.
- Prototype work within discovery is not automatically a production system. Where important uncertainty remains, we propose phased or capped delivery.
Three steps to a decision
- Step 01
Agreement on the problem, the decision you need to make and an indicative budget.
- Step 02
Agreement on discovery scope, the decision-maker, subject experts and access to data and technical owners.
- Step 03
Discovery, closing with a solution design and proposal you can approve, revise or decline.
